Here is a good example of one of Man's little oopsies. This earthen dam held Lawn Lake for many years until rodents got to it. Early one clear bright August morning (1982 I think) it let loose and sent a flood down the mountain. It passes though the park and the town of Estes Park stopping at Olympus dam. The torrent caused considerable damage in both park and town. Willard and I were living in Estes at the time and cleaned up our share of the mud that was left behind in Estes.
