This is a view looking west while walking up the west side of Hallet peak. You can see Grand Lake about 7 or
8 miles away if you look real hard. It is the first lake-looking spot right at the transition from land to bright
sky, in the middle of the photo. One can actually see much better than what I could get out of my snapshot and
The rocks you see in the forground are pretty much what the whole top of the mountain looks like. This makes for interesting hiking. The tundra is made of these rocks with soil between them. There were loads of mosses growing between the tundra rocks.
