These critters are plentiful just above tree line. In summer you will see them scurrying around cutting grasses to dry and save for winter. If you look close you can find piles of grass that they are saving hidden under rocks. You will hear the pika before you see them. They make a squeaking sound that echoes around on the rocks. You might think that it is some bird at first.
